"Mid-Term Break" by Seamus Heaney

For my English class, everyone had to pick a poem that Seamus Heaney wrote. The poem i had picked is called "Mid-Term Break" by Seamus Heaney. This poem is about a boy was sitting in the school office waiting for someone to bring him home. When he finally came home he sees his dad on a chair crying his eyes out, the house was full of neighbors and strangers all around the house. He sees his little sister playing and laughing in her cot and his mother talks his hand. She is overcoming with anger and grief that she is unable to cry. later on that day when the house was quiet we went upstairs and seen his little brothers body for the last time...

I think this poem is really sad because the boy doesn't know whats going on with all the people in his house and hes confused with his dad crying and his mam in anger and grief trying to cry but she cant. He has then understood what was going on when the body came to his house and he knew that his little brother has died. He had went up to his brothers bed room to say his good byes and see him for the last time. His little brother had gotten hit by a car while getting his football on the road...
